ABOUT THE COURSES
Foraging Courses & Fungi & Foraging Courses
Our foraging courses in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire come recommended by The Guardian newspaper. Each course includes:
- A thorough introduction to the fundamentals of foraging
- A wild food and fungi (season dependent) discovery and ID walk including hands-on interaction, stories, folklore, and herbalism
- A variety of wild tasters to try along the way, from cordials and ferments to sweet treats and tipples
- An introduction to an ancient firelighting technique
- A cook-up over the campfire
- An adventurous and relaxing day out in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful wooded valleys.
Bushcraft Mushrooms Courses
The day will include:

- Introduction to the practice of mushroom foraging and its core principles

- Introduction to the identification and classification of fungi.

- Uses of mushrooms for food, medicine, bushcraft and first aid.

- After an ID walk we will arrive at our secluded basecamp where you will have a go at an ancient firelighting technique using key species of fungi to catch a spark and kindle a flame.

- We will then cook up tasty edible mushrooms and make a medicinal drink over the fire.
